Yet more exciting news

There will be one more MAM UK review coming up, which is their changing bag, I accidentally ruined ours when washing it, I forgot to take it out before the dry cycle and things got all stuck together

A big thank you to Denise Walcott at MAM UK for the opportunity to test and review their amazing products

MAM starter cup 150ml

Well this one will be short but sweet :)

The mam starter cup is excellent, Elena managed to get the hang of it immediately, it comes in one size 150ml, the spout is great for little mouths.

With Elena we don't fill it up to much as she is learning to drink by herself, as long as we don't fill it up too much she can hold onto it herself and give a good go at drinking by herself.

The cup comes in different colours which are available on the MAM UK website

I give this cup 10/10

MAM feeding set (updated)

The mam feeding set is brilliant, it has two compartments, so you can have dinner in one side and a pudding in the other, I recieved the pink version with two tone green spoon and fork. The one downside is that the bowl stains rather easily
It has a small handle which is great for gripping onto the bowl when little hands try to grab the bowl from you,

Elena still hasn't quite got to grips with the spoon and fork yet but another couple of weeks and she'll have it cracked, two weeks on and she's cracked it, she knows exactly what to do with them and with a tiny bit of food on the fork and spoon she can feed herself.

I give the feeding set 9/10 losing a point for the easy staining

MAM Manual breast pump

Next up is MAM's manual breast pump, this breast pump is great it takes a little longer than an electric pump, but you get good results, first time we went to use it, we discovered that the silicone valve was missing, so I emailed MAM to let them know, they apologised and said that they would send a valve out first class in the post that evening, the valve came a couple of days later.

Ease of use, its really easy to assemble and use, you need to be prepared to get hand cramp with it being a manual pump, whereas an electric pump you can just pop it on and your good to go.

So second attempt went a little better, hubby managed to express a couple of ounces, (he wanted me to say moo, I obliged and said moo) we then popped the bottle in the fridge so we could feed Elena later in the day.

Third attempt this morning went a lot better, having a poorly morning with Elena, I managed to express 4 ounces with Elena feeding from the other side.

So out of ten, I give the breast pump 9.5/10, losing half a point for hand cramp but if you do it often enough you get used to it.

MAM anti colic 160 ml bottles (21/07/13) updated

First up is the anti colic bottles, these bottles are amazing, Elena has took to these bottles better than she ever did with the tommee tippee closer to nature bottles.

These bottles come apart really easily, and they stack very neatly so they can be sterilized in the microwave in 3 minutes. The teats don't collapse when baby sucks on them which stops baby getting frustrated trying to get milk out. The teats come in 4 different sizes... Size 1 - slow flow, size 2 - medium flow, size 3 - fast flow and cross cut - for thicker comfort milk. The bottles come in 4 different colours,

Pink

Blue

Green

And white

They come in several different sizes, I'm testing the 160 ml bottles which is just over 5 oz, these are a perfect size for Elena as she usually struggles to drink more than 3 oz.

The only downside to these bottles are that they are expensive, but they are definitely worth the price for them, mothercare have a good deal of a starter set which includes
2 x 130ml Anti Colic Bottles
2 x 160ml Anti Colic Bottles
4 x 260ml Anti Colic Middles
4 x Slow Flow Teats
4 x Sealing Discs
1 x Handles
1 x Spout
1 x Start Soother

I am very tempted to buy this set if we get on OK with these test bottles, as of yet  I still haven't bought anymore but I have bought the size two and three teats for the bottles

So out of ten. I give the MAM bottles 9.5/10 losing half a point because of the price

More exciting news :)

Well recently I emailed MAM UK asking if I could review some of their products, they replied and said that I could and sent me out their manual breastpump, anti colic bottle, first sippy cup, and their feeding set. Over the next couple of weeks I'll be reviewing each product individually.

Keep your eyes peeled

Tommee Tippee Electric Breast Pump!

Well breast feeding is fun but there are times when you need a break and baby goes to grandma's house. We bought our breast pump when there was a mothercare baby and me event on so we got it really cheap :)

Things I love:
I love that its so easy to use, basically just plug it in or stick some batteries in, and your ready to go.
It has three different settings, the first is designed to mimic after baby has just latched on, the second as baby is getting into the swing of things and the third is when baby is taking long deep sucks to get as much milk as possible

Things I don't like:
I don't like how noisy it is, this mode is particularly noisy and it has woke Elena in the night if I've had to express a bottle for when ever she goes to grandmas

Ease of washing, some of the parts can be very fiddly, I'm not sure if its dishwasher safe as we don't have a dishwasher.

My rating out of 10, well I give it 8.5/10 losing a mark and a half for the ease of washing and the noise

The babasling limited edition print daydream

The babasling is a handy piece of kit, there's at least 5 ways of wearing your little one, you'll always find handy videos and instructions on YouTube :)

It's also very easy to use, you just clip the safety buckle first and then clip the larger buckle over the safety buckle and voila the babasling is ready to wear :) slip the babasling over your head and arm so it crosses your body diagonally and your ready to go :)

My favourite position is the koala cuddles where baby is chest to chest with you.

Discreet breastfeeding is very easy, as you just slip the shoulder strap off your shoulder onto the top of your arm, lift the top railing up and your ready to discreetly breastfeed anywhere :)

The babasling comes in a range of colours, organic materials and limited edition prints, I got a limited edition print for my birthday and I love it :)

I give the babasling 10/10 as I love it so much and Elena loves it too :)

Graco Symbio B Review

Well where to start, when me and my hubby first found out I was expecting I knew I wanted a travel system that was light (I'm 5"3 and 7st 10) easy to fold and compact, and most of all cheap :) so we decided to go 2nd hand :) and we decided that the Graco Symbio B was the one for us, so I'm going to break it down into my favourite parts, parts I dislike and what I'd change about it :)

Manuver-ability - The Symbio B is really easy to manuver, the front wheels can swivel 360 degrees or lock into place if you should want to. You can even push it with one hand.

Compact - The Symbio B is very compact, it folds down really small and can fit easily through two closely parked cars with ease.

Price - The Symbio B is a cheap travel system, if you know where to look, the cheapest I've seen it for is £199.99 in Toys'R'Us we bought ours second hand for £150.

ColoursThe Symbio B comes in different colours, Urban, Arctic Blue (this may be the original Symbio model colour as I've never seen the Symbio B), Chilli Red and Boysenberry (exclusive to Toys'R'Us) as we stayed team yellow during our pregnancy we went for Urban. (I would love for there to be a bigger choice of colours, or inter-changeable ones so you could pick & mix if you wanted to)

Things I love with the Symbio B
I love that the Symbio B is lightweight in total it weighs 7.5kg, without the attachment the chassis is approx 5kg, I love how smooth a ride it is for my daughter Elena, it's been rolled over stones, cobbles, and uneven tarmac and she has happily looked around or as most the time she's in there slept soundly. I also love the Carry-cot, its spacious for small babies ( might be a bit of a squeeze for larger babies) but as Elena was a tiny 19 inches she fit in it with room to spare (probably could have fitted two of her in there) she did get bored of being in the carry-cot rather quickly because she's very inquisitive and nosy (she loves being sat up so she can have a good nosy). The pushchair part is spacious and well padded it reclines right back so she can sleep easily, it also sits up and sits up straight. Elena loves sitting up. I also love where the break is placed (just on the side of the handle, it means your not going to knock it easily with your foot and once the break is on it won't shift about on a moving bus.

Things I hate with the Symbio B
As our Symbio B was 2nd hand it didn't come with the original rain-cover (it may have been the original rain-cover for the Graco Symbio) ours was the newer model with the old rain-cover (annoying but it works for now) I will be looking in to how to make a rain-cover myself and changing the design slightly. I also hate the size of the basket its so small. (Listen up Graco, the Symbio B could do with a bigger and deeper basket) other than those two things there's not much to hate about the Symbio B.

So my score out of 10, I give it 8.5/10 losing 1 and a half points because of the basket and raincover
